The third edition of “Mastertech of the Fashion: from training to work” was held in digital format on Thursday 26 November 2020. It was organized by Confindustria Moda as part of Job&Orienta, the largest national exhibition on school, training and work orientation.

During the event, the President of Confindustria Moda Cirillo Marcolin announced that the textile-fashion sector will need about 40.000 new employees, especially technicians, to replace the foreseen retirement and to support the growth recorded by the segment.

It was a virtual meeting that involved students of the technical and professional schools as well as ITS (Technical High Institutes) of all regions in Italy. As a testament to the great professional opportunities that this sector can offer, viewers were given the opportunity to listen to alumni tell their experiences of life, study and work.

During the event Mr.Sebastiano Gonela was interviewed. He graduated in the address tannery from the ITS G.Galilei in Arzignano, the most important tanning district in Italy. Today he works as a Laboratory Technical Assistant at DANI, a well-known tannery that for years has chosen to be a sustainable company that produces high automotive, fashion and furniture leather.

With his testimony, Mr. Sebastiano Gonella has contributed to the achievement of the goal of Mastertech, sharing a successful experience in which the professionalism required in the textile industry was result of the applying the methods and techniques learned in training.

The tanning sector, to which DANI belongs, is a highlight of Fashion and “Made in Italy.” Therefore, it’s important to give visibility to the students in this sector, which has an important role in National and International production.
