Dani was founded as a small family-run tannery in 1950 and today is a “Made in Italy” distinction with 1,000+ employees and over 200 Million in revenue, 75% of which results from exports and 1.5% is re-invested in research and innovation.

Dani S.p.A. was founded as a small family run tannery in 1950. Today it counts 3 main production plants in Arzignano (Italy) and almost 1,000 employees.  For more than 65 years, leather continues to be produced entirely in Italy, which makes Dani’s leather a real made-in-Italy product.

The company produces genuine leather for various sectors:  automotive, furniture, information technology, footwear, leather goods and clothing.

Lately Dani SpA is applying, for both organizational management and control model, Italian Legislation D-Lgs 231, which also provides a Ethical Code. The implementation of an effective organizational and management model, in accordance with this decree, also requires different integrated skills, in different areas: legal, corporate, organizational and risk management.

DANI IN TIME-LAPSE

It was the year 1950 when Angelo

Dani builds by hand his first drum for
manufacturing leather.

In the ‘70s the company passed in the
hands of Mr Dani’s six sons, raising in the
following years both the dimension and
the geographic expansion of the company,
changing its name into “Conceria F.lli
Dani Snc”. “We have worked really hard”
says Giancarlo Dani, the youngest of the
six brothers and the current CEO of Dani
S.p.A. “in this small family run tannery my
brother and I were doing everything: backoffice,
front-office, truck unloading, leather
selection and technical development”. This
experience made “on the field” has led the
company to the current size and know-how.

The early ’80s  were very important
for the whole district of Arzignano:
the company, at that time still in the
village center, together with other
tanneries moved to the new industrial
area. During these years the local public
administration built the first plant to
treat all the wastewater coming from the
tanneries, a first important step towards
the environment.

In 1997: Dani obtained its first “quality
management system” certification,
according to the norm ISO 9001.

The year 2005 signs the beginning of
a wide internationalization process thanks
to the new commercial branches: one in the
United States, in New Jersey and the second
one in China, in Guangzhou.
Changes are now on the agenda: In 2007
the company becomes “Gruppo
Dani S.p.A.”

In 2009 with the addition of another
plant dedicated entirely to the
production of leather for automotive,
Dani stepped into this industry, thus
adding this new industrial branch to the
well-established branches of furniture,
footwear and leather goods. Thereby
Dani started to produce leather for the
main - worldwide car producers.

In 2011 the first great achievement in
terms of sustainability and innovation: Dani
is the first tannery in the world to obtain the
“Carbon Footprint of Product”

In 2013-2014, to satisfy the volume
increase for the automotive division, Dani has
started important collaborations with Dani
Automotive Tunisia, specialized in cutting
operations and Dani AFC, a Slovenian
company specialized in cutting and sewing
operations for the automotive industry.

In 2014 Gruppo Dani S.p.A. and Dani
Automotive S.p.A merged into Dani S.p.A..

In 2015 Dani opened a showroom in
New York, to better meet the needs
of architects and designers.

In 2017, Dani global presence 
becomes stronger with the opening 
of other two showrooms in Arzignano and 
Shanghai.
